IN CHARACTER
NAME. Gamora
AGE. 29 in Terran years
SPECIES. Zehoberei
ABILITIES.
- Superhuman Strength: Due to her Zehoberei heritage and bionic enhancements, Gamora is stronger than humans and many other species, allowing her to overpower a majority of her opponents in combat. She possesses a cybernetic skeleton.
- Superhuman Durability: Gamora's bionic upgrades and the advanced physiology of her species allow her to be more resistant to physical harm. Gamora was able to survive, or at least briefly endure, various afflictions that would prove fatal to a normal human being, such as severe electrocution, deep-space exposure, or blunt force trauma.
- Superhuman Agility: As a bionically-enhanced Zehoberei, Gamora possesses a high level of agility that gives her an advantage over her opponents, such as when she was able to leap at a tremendous height and distance while helping the other Guardians escape from the Kyln.
- Superhuman Stamina: Gamora's two livers allow her to metabolize and filter toxins faster than any human and her respiratory implants allow her to intake oxygen at greater efficiency than any human.
- Enhanced Vision: Gamora's ocular implants allow her to see farther than what her species is capable of.
- Enhanced Reflexes: Gamora's natural reflexes have been augmented by the use of nanomachines throughout her bloodstream, increasing her reaction time in combat situations.
- Enhanced Speed: Due to cybernetic implants within her body, Gamora's speed was augmented to allow her to move faster than a normal Zehoberian.
- Regenerative Healing Factor: Bio-augmentations such as nanomachines within her bloodstream have granted Gamora the power to regenerate quickly from most injuries or infections, allowing her to easily get back into fighting shape after being exposed to deep-space without any protection.
- Master Martial Artist: Trained extensively by Thanos and having years of fighting experience when carrying out Thanos' missions, Gamora is highly proficient in both armed and hand-to-hand combat. Gamora's skills were so advanced that even Thanos himself held her at such high regard that he openly considered her the finest of his children and the fiercest woman in the Galaxy, with her being known to having constantly beat Nebula, a very proficient fighter in her own right, in their spars.
- Master Assassin: Gamora is an exceptional assassin, being so great that she was known for never having failed her missions while under Thanos' tutelage and even earning such fearful reputation that she was considered the "deadliest woman in the galaxy" due to her work as an assassin. Nebula, herself an extensively trained assassin who was skilled enough to have come close to assassinating Thanos, stated that Gamora is the better assassin.
- Sword Mastery: Gamora is shown to be highly skilled in using her sword, with it being her primary method of combat.
- Expert Marksman: Although Gamora was known to prefer using melee combat, especially swords, much more often, her training under Thanos nevertheless allowed her to acquire a level of proficiency in using firearms. She is also an excellent knife-thrower, able to throw a knife with such accuracy from a great distance that she was able to avoid amputating Quill's arm while still forcing him to drop the Orb.
- Expert Pilot: Gamora is a capable pilot, as shown when in an attempt to escape from Nebula and a group of Sakaarans on Knowhere, Gamora was able to single-handedly command and fly a mining pod with relative ease.

HISTORY
WIKI LINK: Gamora’s Wiki
HISTORY:
- Early Childhood: Gamora was born on Zen-Whoberi to two loving parents. Her early childhood was a simple, but happy one, until Thanos and his soldiers arrived to “save” her planet by killing everyone she loved. Because the tiny girl from a pacifist species fought back against her captors, Thanos took a personal interest in her, grooming and abducting her as her people were murdered around them.
- Thanos & Nebula: Thanos trained Gamora in the art of combat and also cybernetically enhanced her to transform her into the ultimate weapon. He also adopted a Luphomoid girl named Nebula. Gamora and Nebula had a complicated relationship, sometimes uniting as sisters against a common enemy, but most frequently ended up pawns in his game of pitting them against one another. Thanos forced Gamora and Nebula to spar regularly, and every time Gamora won, which was every time, tortured Nebula with “upgrades,” stating that it was to make her stronger than her sister. Thanos made it clear that Gamora was his favorite and the heir to his space throne. Despite the fact that Gamora hated her father and her life with him, she became an accomplished assassin and built up the reputation as the deadliest woman in the galaxy. Because of this abuse, she and Nebula continue to struggle with a complicated relationship, despite Nebula finally joining her against their father.
- Relationship with Peter Quill: Gamora met Peter Quill on a job to steal an orb holding the power stone. While they were fighting over the stone, they were attacked by bounty hunters Rocket and Groot and all four managed to get arrested and thrown in the Kyln. Sometime between their jailbreak and exploding his father, the planet, they somehow became teammates, then friends. Gamora fought against her attraction to Peter, but the combination of the adrenaline of repeatedly saving each other’s lives, his firm belief that she was more than a weapon, but rather a person with actual thoughts and emotions that he cared to hear about, the music and banter, and that face (not to mention those abs) proved too much to resist, no matter how hard she tried. Gamora will attest that all of the rumors about his pelvic sorcery are 100% true, not that any other female of any species will be allowed first hand experience of this fact ever again. She also knows that despite what he told her father, there is only one type of relationship where someone will pull the trigger through desperate tears, because they made a promise to you, and this relationship is not “long-term booty call.”
- The Guardians: Gamora, Quill, Rocket, Groot, and Drax start out as 5 criminals with vaguely aligned goals, but rapidly grow into a team and a family. The two defining moments in this development for Gamora are Groot’s sacrifice to save them all and the remaining four coming together to channel the energy of the power stone, proving that they are stronger together than they could be individually. After this, Gamora is frequently the moral center of their family: backing Peter’s leadership of the team, calling out when their male egos get in the way of their goals, reminding the team that they are trying to be heroes, and especially mothering their tiny Groot Sprout. As a tree mom, she is fiercely protective, but also both nurturing and playful, sides of her that she has never let anyone see before.
- Sacrifice: Gamora’s history with Thanos comes back to haunt her as he begins to succeed in collecting Infinity Stones, because she holds information he needs and has withheld about the Soul Stone. Thanos effectively used the people she loved against her, first using the Reality Stone to torment her into thinking she had killed him, then torturing Nebula to force her to give him the information. He ultimately drags her to Vormir, where predictably the Soul Stone buys into his gaslighting and agrees that abusive controlling love still counts as love, and he pushes her off the cliff.
PERSONALITY
Gamora can come across as stoic, distant, and merciless, which is a coping mechanism she was required to develop to redefine herself from a victim of childhood trauma to a powerful woman. She has complicated feelings for Thanos as her adoptive father and sister Nebula due to the conflict between trauma bonding and her personal strong sense of honor and right and wrong.
Underneath her ruthless exterior and strategic mind, Gamora can be ruled by emotions just as much as the far more expressive Star-Lord. This is most clear when she attacks Thanos rather than following the plan.
Gamora cares deeply about family, and spent most of her young life attempting to reach out to her sister despite the systematic abuse both of them endured. This was never actually reciprocated until she became part of the Guardians. This allowed her to begin to soften her hard exterior, becoming someone who sings along to mixtapes, comforts baby Groot, and dances to Sam Cooke.
